Description Middleton Associates Incorporated is a multiple discipline firm providing and coordinating professional services related to planning and construction of new and existing facilities throughout Illinois. Services include: Architectural Design and Development, Site Planning, Historic Documentation, Historic Renovation, Energy Management, Health/Life Safety/Accessibility, On Site Inspection Services, Construction Documents Production, and Contract Administration. The firm has a varied background accomplished over fifty years of practice. Our range of experience encompasses many categories or project types for several Owner/Contractor arrangements, including conventional competitive bidding, negotiated contracts, design build contracts, construction management and Owner implemented work for private Owners, public bodies, nonprofit organizations, and institutions.

History Keith Middleton founded the firm in 1954, working primarily in the area of educational, commercial, and residential facilities. Early commissions included consulting work for educational facilities designed by others. By 1960 the firm had expanded to include associates, and work grew to include major commercial, educational, religious, healthcare, and office projects throughout Illinois. The current principals incorporated in 1972. Through the 1980's, a changing marketplace provided expanded experience in industrial development, structural renovation, re-roofing, energy studies, historic documentation, and historic renovation/restoration work. Our wide variety of experience enhances our ability to serve individual project needs by encompassing the base of ideas and experiences from which to develop future designs and details.

Project success is dependent upon the correct interpretation and application of the Owner's identified needs, project goals, applicable regulations, and aesthetic elements into documents which can be transformed into a finished product. A strong communication process is necessary for a successful application of the Architect's service. A weakness in any phase of the communications necessary to a project will replace the optimum team relationship with adversarial positioning. Middleton Associates Incorporated is committed to maintaining the team concept throughout the design and construction process to achieve a result considered equally successful by all parties to the project.
